A brief but potent detour from Blue Note, cut with Blakey's fire and Kelly's swing behind him, catching Morgan at 21 already blowing with the confidence that would soon anchor Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers.

The earliest on file here is a 1960 US Vee Jay LP 3007 in mono, deep groove, an ARP pressing. Stereo of the same year is SR 3007, deep groove with a laminated sleeve. Japan had Top Rank RANK-5061 in mono and SRANK-5008 in stereo, also 1960. Everything after that is reissue territory: Affinity AFF 143 in the UK in 1985, a remastered Japanese mono on 22YB-2005 in 1987, a 180 gram CR00857 in 2025.
