The record
A one-off summit of Chicago-bred hard boppers, with Jenkins' alto and Jordan's tenor trading lines over Timmons' soon-to-be-famous soul-jazz comping and Ware's supple, behind-the-beat bass. Jenkins cut precious few dates as a leader, making this a rare showcase for an underrecorded voice of the era.
