The record
The title track's Latin groove became a jam session staple, but the real story is a teenage Tony Williams driving the rhythm section with startling authority. Hancock's chords and Joe Henderson's first recorded tenor solos give the date its quiet confidence.

Pressings
The earliest we list is the 1963 US stereo, Blue Note BST 84127, with an RVG stamp and a Plastylite ear; the mono, BLP 4127, is from the same year. A 1966 repress of 84127 still carries the ear and the stamp, and the 1966 NY mono BLP 4127 keeps the RVG stamp -- both are the sensible buy. Music Matters cut it at 45 RPM in 2011 as MMBST-84127.
