The record
Riverside dates rarely let the drummer run the show, but here Jones takes the spotlight, complete with a Bela Lugosi-style spoken monologue that opens the title track. Griffin and Adderley trade sharp, hard-swinging lines over a rhythm section built for propulsion, with young Garrison already showing the drive that Coltrane would later prize.
