Weeks after the Atlantic breakthrough, this second date pushes deeper into collective improvisation, Cherry's pocket trumpet circling that alto cry while Haden and Higgins keep the swing intact underneath the freedom.

Pressings
The earliest we list are 1960 US Atlantic copies of 1327, mono and stereo both, each with a deep groove; a stereo SD 1327 follows in 1962. Britain came out on London -- mono LTZ-K15199 and a 1961 stereo SAH-K 6099 carrying deep groove and a laminated sleeve, the pick of the imports. Later US runs use Presswell plates in 1974 and 1977. The 2000 180-gram SD-1327 is the cleanest modern copy on file.
