The record
A brief Bethlehem date slotted between Atlantic albums, notable for a young Bill Evans laying spare, harmonically alert voicings under Knepper and Shaw's brass. Hadi's doubling and Richmond's early chemistry with Mingus point toward the group sound that would flower on Columbia.

Pressings
The earliest pressing on file here is the 1957 US Bethlehem mono, BCP 6019. Stereo does not appear until 1959, as SBCP 6019, alongside a UK Parlophone PMC 1092 and a Japanese Angel pressing on red vinyl, HV 3003, in a laminated sleeve. Reissues pile up from 1971 onward across Japan and Europe. For a clean modern mono, Bethlehem's own 2023 180-gram remaster, 538816151, is the current one.
