The record
Cut live at the Village haunt in early '73, this set finds Walton's working trio loosening up with Clifford Jordan's tenor riding shotgun, Sam Jones and Louis Hayes locking in the kind of easy swing only a road-tested rhythm section can deliver. A prime document of Muse's straight-ahead, small-room aesthetic in the post-bop '70s.
