The record
Fresh off Blakey's bandstand, the young tenor player leans into a Kind of Blue rhythm section and Lee Morgan's trumpet for his first date as a leader. Already the writing pushes past hard bop's usual corners.

Pressings
The earliest we list is the 1960 US Vee Jay VJLP 3006 in mono; stereo came the same year as SR 3006, with deep groove noted on both the stereo and a mono repress. A laminated sleeve shows on one 1960 mono. Japanese reissues are the bulk of what followed, running from JC-8 in 1975 to RJL-2666 in 1983. The modern European pressings on file are budget reissues -- no audiophile line appears.
Showing the first pressing, audiophile reissues and copies carrying a collector marker, out of 34 pressings on file.
