The record
The last of Tina Brooks' four Blue Note dates as leader, shelved for decades and only released posthumously -- a quiet injustice given the strength of this quintet. Johnny Coles' lyrical trumpet and Kenny Drew's spare comping frame Brooks' understated, blues-soaked tenor at its most fully formed.
Session personnel
- Wilbur Ware — bass
- "Philly" Joe Jones — drums
- Kenny Drew — piano
- Tina Brooks — tenor saxophone
