A young Rollins steps in front of the nascent MJQ rhythm section, trading choruses with Milt Jackson's vibes while John Lewis's chamber-minded comping hints at the group's future direction. Early proof of Rollins's harmonic daring, cut when he was still finding his voice among Prestige's first-call New York players.
