The record
Three horns across the front -- Davis's trumpet, J.J. Johnson's trombone and Jimmy Heath's tenor -- with Gil Coggins at the piano and Percy Heath and Art Blakey behind them. Blue Note issued it in 1953 as a 10-inch, BLP 5022, six titles, cover by John Hermansader. A stacked band on a small format, and the format is the reason it stays lean.
