A quintet session that opens the trio format up, letting Freddie Hubbard's trumpet and Jim Hall's guitar color around Evans' harmony instead of just sitting behind it. Heath and Philly Joe Jones keep the pulse light, giving the horns and strings room to move.

Every period pressing here is on Riverside. The earliest on file is a 1962 RM 445 in mono, with the stereo RS 9445 the same year carrying a deep groove; both were repressed in 1966. A 1970 Japanese Riverside MW 2009 comes in a gatefold. The OJC reissue is OJC-308, from 1987, and it has been repressed repeatedly, including a 2015 European 180 gram under the same number. Newest are Riverside CR00855 on 180 gram (2025) and a 2026 45 RPM RLP 9445.
