The record
Lateef moves between tenor saxophone, bamboo flute and oboe across these nine tracks, and Ernie Farrow doubles bass with rabab -- which is what puts 'The Plum Blossom' and 'Blues For The Orient' in the same room as the love themes from Spartacus and The Robe. Barry Harris and Lex Humphries keep it all grounded. Moodsville MV 22, 1962.
