The record
Big-toned tenor man Vido Musso -- Kenton alum with a sound as broad as his reputation for showing up late -- leads a West Coast crew through hard-swinging blowing dates for the Bihari brothers' Modern Records. Ferguson's high-note brass and a rotating drum chair keep the date propulsive, mid-'50s LA jazz built for dancing, not brooding.
