Green's trombone thickens the pot on this CBS/Sony session, a funky, direct combo date built around organ churn and reed snarl. Benson sounds fully formed here, years before wider fame caught up.

Pressings
The earliest copies on file are the 1967 Columbia stereo CS 9413 and mono CL 2613, joined the same year by a UK CBS pressing as BPG 62971. From 1970 that same CS 9413 number covers Santa Maria, Pitman and Terre Haute repressings, so the plant code in the deadwax is what separates them. Later come Columbia Special Products JCS 9413 in 1973 and a Japanese CBS/Sony issue, 15AP 544, in 1977. The 1967 copies are the ones worth waiting for.
