The record

Tenor and organ is the engine here, Davis against Shirley Scott, but the wild card is Steve Pulliam's trombone thickening the front line on 'Intermission Riff' and 'Our Delight'. George Duvivier and Arthur Edgehill keep it moving underneath. Rudy Van Gelder recorded it and cut the lacquer, with notes by Dale Wright. Prestige PRLP 7171, mono, 1960.
