Bebop caught in transition -- Getz's tenor already lyrical and light against a rotating cast of first-call players including Al Haig, Roy Haynes, and Percy Heath. Small-group sides that show the cool strain peeling away from Bird and Diz's harder attack.

Every copy on file is the Prestige compilation rather than a single session album, so buy it as such. The earliest we list is the 1955 US mono LP 7002, remastered, with an RVG stamp; a 1956 pressing reuses the same number. After that it is Japanese reissues in 1979 and 1984 and a 1988 Korean copy. Original Jazz Classics issued OJC-121 in 2014 in both US and European pressings.
