Foster's organ sits deep in the pocket here, wah-wah funk grooves thickened by Gordon Edwards' fender bass and a stray touch of harp -- Blue Note easing into the '70s crossover era without losing its groove-jazz soul.

Pressings

The earliest copies we list are all 1972 US Blue Note stereo pressings of BST-84382, and they differ in the details: one is noted as a Terre Haute pressing, another as a Liberty label, both carrying an RVG stamp. A German BST 84 382 K is the same year. Blue Note repressed it in 1973 and again in 1995; an undated US Scorpio pressing also circulates.
