Detroit roots meet Miles-band pedigree here, with Yusef Lateef's writing giving Fuller and Turrentine room to push past the changes. Kelly and Humphries keep the pulse honest, letting the leader's lines stay melodic and unhurried.

Pressings
The earliest on file is the 1960 US Vee Jay VJLP 3012 in mono, with a mono promo beside it. The stereo under that same number is dated 1964 here, so a stereo copy is not the early one. Japan carried the record for years afterward -- JC-3 in 1975, UXP-82-JY in 1977, RJL-6009 in 1981 -- and an undated UK Joy pressing, JOYS 208, comes in a laminated sleeve.
