The record
Bossa nova heat gets filtered through Gil Evans' writing, the trumpet keeping its cool, vibrato-free phrasing even as the rhythms turn tropical. Slighter than the earlier Evans records, but the Latin haze still holds up.
Session personnel
- Ron Carter — bass
- Frank Butler — drums
- Victor Feldman — piano
- George Coleman — tenor saxophone
- Miles Davis — trumpet

Pressings
The earliest we list is a 1963 UK CBS mono, and the 1963 US Columbia pressings sit right alongside it -- stereo CS 8906, and CL 2106 in mono, though our only 1963 US mono is a promo, with stock mono copies dated 1964. UK stereo runs as SBPG 62213. Nothing later is an audiophile reissue; the list simply repeats CL 2106 and CS 8906 into 1971.
