The record
Grant Green shows up here just ahead of his own Blue Note run, sparring with Willette's churchy organ while the alto shouts the blues over top. Nothing fussy about this one -- it's built for dancing, plain and simple.

Pressings
The earliest pressing on file here is the 1961 mono BLP 4066 with the 47 West 63rd label, deep groove, an RVG stamp and a Plastylite ear -- everything a collector looks for. A stereo ST 84066 is listed the same year. The 1962 New York-label copies keep the deep groove and the ear and are the realistic buy. Analogue Productions cut ABNJ 84066 at 45 RPM in 2009, which is the audiophile route.
