The record
Foster's vamps and conga work set an unhurried, funky pace, the alto riding loose on top like a Sunday with nowhere to be. The label kept this formula working, and the quintet leans into it without strain.

Pressings
The earliest pressings on file here are all 1962: mono BLP 4079 with a deep groove on side one and an RVG stamp, stereo BST 84079 with a deep groove and a laminated sleeve, and a second mono copy with no deep groove at all. That spread inside a single year is the thing to watch -- the catalog number tells you nothing on its own. Blue Note repressed both numbers on through 1975.
