The record
Argo got this one instead of Blue Note, though the pocket sounds the same -- Foster's piano and Barretto's congas keeping things loose while the alto works its bluesy phrasing. Earl May and Bruno Carr swing it straight, no sermon attached.
Session personnel
- Lou Donaldson — alto saxophone
- Earl May — bass
- Ray Barretto — congas
- Bruno Carr — drums
- Herman Foster — piano
