The record

A cornerstone of West Coast jazz's flirtation with Brazilian idiom, pairing Almeida's classical-trained nylon-string guitar with Shank's cool, airy alto years ahead of the bossa nova wave. Babasin and Harte keep things light and chamber-like, letting the two leads trade lines with unhurried, lyrical ease.
