The record
A pianoless-adjacent quartet date that finds the alto man leaning hard into the New Thing without abandoning blues grit, Larry Willis making his recorded debut alongside him. Cranshaw and Jarvis keep the pulse loose but grounded, letting the frontline stretch out on some of his most exploratory mid-'60s writing.

Pressings
Both 1966 US pressings -- mono BLP 4215 and stereo BST 84215 -- carry a Van Gelder stamp and a Plastylite ear, and the mono is the earliest on file. From there it thins fast: a 1967 US stereo repress, an Italian stereo the same year, and a 1970 US stereo, all still stamped. Japan's GXK-8086 arrived in 1978. The one serious modern option is Music Matters' 2015 gatefold 180g, MMBST-84215.
