The record

A tight, swinging rhythm section of Wynton Kelly, Wilbur Ware, and "Philly" Joe Jones gives Henry's alto plenty of room to sing through familiar changes. Recorded not long before his early death, it's a quiet showcase for a Bird-influenced voice that never got its due.
