The record
Cut in the Netherlands with a young Dutch rhythm section just weeks before his death, this is Dolphy caught in restless, searching form on alto, flute, and bass clarinet. Mengelberg and Bennink push him into freer territory, closing with the spoken line that gave the LP its title and its haunting finality.

Pressings
This was a Dutch date and the Dutch pressings are the earliest on file: Fontana 681 008 ZL in mono and 825 608 QY in stereo, both 1965. The US Limelight of that year, LM 82013, is mono in a gatefold. The stereo Limelight, LS 86013, is a 1968 reissue and reappears in 1973 and 1979 pressings. Japanese copies are plentiful from 1968 onward but all of them are reissues.
