The record

Two drummers, two percussionists, two flutes and an electric piano -- Donald Byrd building something a good deal wider than a quintet. Duke Pearson produced the date and plays the electric piano, Jimmy Ponder's guitar keeps the vamps rolling, and Frank Foster and Julian Priester fill out the horns behind Byrd's trumpet. Four tracks, room to stretch in each. Blue Note BST/84319.

Pressings

The earliest-flagged row is a 1969 German pressing, BST 84 319 K, but the US Blue Note BST 84319 is from the same year and carries an RVG stamp -- that is the copy to look for. Everything after is a reissue: 1970, then 1973 and 1975 Research Craft and All Disc pressings of the same number, Japan's 1979 GXK 8141, and a 2018 club edition, B0028724-01.

Showing the first pressing, audiophile reissues and copies carrying a collector marker, out of 24 pressings on file.
