The record
Chess's jazz arm brought this pianist back into view with Bill Hardman's trumpet and a two-drummer lineup pushing the session forward. His playing reads clean and harmonically sharp, carrying traces of the bebop language he'd absorbed years earlier with Bird and Diz.
Session personnel
- Richard Evans — bass
- Ben Dixon — drums
- Marshall Thompson — drums
- Dodo Marmarosa — piano
- Bill Hardman — trumpet
