This December 1953 date for Bethlehem finds Kai Winding and J.J. Johnson's trombones stacked against Herbie Mann's flute, with Ralph Sharon's trio easing the swing along. Connor's veiled, unhurried delivery sits comfortably at the center of it all.

Careful here: the earliest LP on file is a 1956 Canadian Bethlehem BCP-56, and the US BCP-56 we list is a 1957 repress -- we hold no US first pressing. An undated US BCP-56 repress from Research Craft carries a deep groove. Britain and Australia took it as a 10-inch on London, HB-N1074 and H.B.A. 1074, in 1957. Japanese reissues run 22AP 234 in 1976 and YP-7102 in 1984. Nothing audiophile is listed.
