The record
Xanadu's late-'70s reissue reaches back into Powell's Paris expatriate years, pairing him with the era's go-to European rhythm section of Michelot and Clarke, plus tenors Wilen and Griffin sitting in. A glimpse of the pianist's exile-era circle, when Paris clubs and sessions offered him steadier footing than New York had in years.
