The record
A working quintet session from the early '60s, cut when Lateef was deep in his exploratory Prestige/Moodsville-adjacent phase, folding blues-drenched tenor and Vincent Pitts' trumpet into loose, unhurried grooves. Double drums from Jarvis and Scott give the date extra push beneath Harmon's piano and McKinney's bass.
Session personnel
- Ray McKinney — bass
- Clifford Jarvis — drums
- George Scott — drums
- John Harmon — piano
- Yusef Lateef — tenor saxophone
- Vincent Pitts — trumpet
