The record

Late-'66 Verve session finds the organ trio format stripped to essentials, with Rosengarden and Gubin's percussion work coaxing a loose, samba-tinged pulse from Wanderley's Hammond. A quieter entry in his bossa-nova-goes-electric run, built more on groove and space than the hooks that made him a crossover name.

Session personnel

  • Walter Wanderley — organ [electric], arranged by
  • Bobby Rosengarden — percussion
  • Sol Gubin — percussion
