A 1964 big-band date pairing Akiyoshi's Japanese ensemble with the Miles Davis rhythm section pedigree of Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb, bridging Tokyo's jazz scene and hard-bop New York. A rare early glimpse of her arranging voice before the large-scale suites that would define her later career.
