By '62 this road-tested quartet had turned Monk's puzzles into groove, Rouse digging hard into the title cut without smoothing its edges. A tight, unfussy set from a band that had lived inside these tunes for years.

Pressings

Both 1963 US Columbia issues head the list, stereo CS 8838 and mono CL 2038, each pressed at Terre Haute and Pitman with no plant taking precedence in what we hold. The UK got a laminated mono CBS BPG 62173 in 1963 and the stereo SBPG 62173 in 1964. Later options thin out: a 1969 Japanese SONP 50229, a 1973 Columbia Special Products JCS 8838, and a 1980 Japanese 20AP 1812.
