The record
Two tenors going at each other in front of a live room -- Eddie 'Lockjaw' Davis and Johnny Griffin, taped at Minton's Playhouse with Junior Mance, Larry Gales and Ben Riley behind them. 'Straight No Chaser' and 'Woody'n You' are where the cutting gets serious, and 'I'll Remember April' closes it out. Prestige PRLP 7191, 1961, Joe Goldberg on the back.
