The record
Recorded the same Sunday afternoon that produced Waltz for Debby, this set has LaFaro answering Evans phrase for phrase rather than keeping time behind him. Ten days later LaFaro was dead, leaving this stand as one of the last records of that particular way of listening.

Pressings
1961 Riverside is where this starts: RLP 376 in mono and 9376 in stereo, each listed both with and without a deep groove, so check the label rather than the seller's description. Japan had it the same year as SR-7008 in stereo, also deep groove. OJC-140 has kept the record in print since 1984 and accounts for most affordable copies. The serious modern cuts are Analogue Productions' 45 RPM AJAZ 9376 in 2002, Mobile Fidelity's UD1S 2-002 box in 2017, and the UHQR 0017-45 in 2024.
