The record

Cut as the bossa nova craze hit American shores, this finds Quincy Jones scoring the new Brazilian rhythms for full big-band brass, with Jim Hall's guitar and Lalo Schifrin's piano threading through the percussion-heavy arrangements. A crossover date that shows Jones's arranging chops applied to a fad with real staying power.
