The record
A nonet session that traded bebop's heat for cooler, arranged textures -- French horn and tuba voicings courtesy of Gil Evans and Gerry Mulligan's charts reshaping small-group jazz. These sides laid the blueprint for West Coast cool, with Konitz's alto floating above Davis's already-spare, unhurried horn.

Every pressing here is listed as a compilation, and nothing on file predates 1957. The earliest we list is a 1957 UK Capitol T 762 in mono, with US T-762 copies the same year, one of them a Scranton pressing. A 1960 US T-762 repress carries a deep groove. The catalog number shifts to T 1974 from 1963 on. For modern copies, Classic Records pressed T-762 on 200 gram in 2003, and the 2026 Tone Poet T762 is mono, 180 gram, gatefold.
