The record
A brass-heavy septet-plus date that finds Tyner stretching into arranger's territory, voicing tuba and french horn alongside trombone and reeds for a darker, more orchestral palette than his trio work. Lee Morgan and Bennie Maupin add bite, but the writing itself is the star -- a rare glimpse of Tyner composing beyond the keyboard.

The earliest on file is a 1968 US stereo, BST 84275, with an RVG stamp -- no mono pressing is listed for this title. Blue Note kept the number in print through 1985, including a DMM remaster. The 1978 UK BNS 40024 and Japanese GXK8068 are the common cheap copies, and Japan's BNJ 71076 followed in 1985. No audiophile reissue appears on file.
