The record

A trio date that lets Tabackin stretch out on both horns, his flute work carrying traces of the Japanese folk melodicism he'd explore further with Toshiko Akiyoshi, while his tenor digs into a burly Rollins-esque swagger. Recorded for Inner City in late '74, it's a solid showcase of his dual voice without a piano to fill the space.
