The record
A sprawling one-off for Columbia, stacking Burrell's clean-toned guitar against Illinois Jacquet's tenor honk, Leo Wright's alto, and Jack McDuff's organ across a shifting cast of bassists and drummers. The result is loose, blues-soaked small-group jazz that catches Burrell mid-decade, comfortable in company from bebop to soul-jazz.
