Drummers rotate through this Prestige quartet date -- Taylor, Ritchie, Hayes -- while Garland's comping stays constant and the tenor works through hard-bop changes with growing confidence. Byrd and Hubbard both pass through the frontline on a set stitched together from January 1958.

Everything on file starts in 1964: the stereo PR 7292 is the earliest listed, with a mono of the same number and a stereo PRST 7292 alongside it. A 1964 mono repress carries an RVG stamp. France got FELP 10016 that year and Japan SMJ-7246. Later copies are numerous and unremarkable -- the 2014 Doxy ACV2002 and the 2015 WaxTime 772003 are the recent European reissues. No earlier US pressing is on file.
