The record
A soul-jazz communion with Turrentine's tenor testifying over Smith's Hammond, greasy and unhurried in that early-'60s Blue Note groove. Bailey and Warren keep the pocket deep and churchy, more sanctified rent party than cutting session.

Pressings
The earliest pressing on file here is the 1964 US Blue Note mono, BLP 4164, and it is the loaded one -- deep groove, RVG stamp, Plastylite ear and a laminated sleeve. A second 1964 mono of the same number drops the deep groove but keeps stamp and ear, so check the trail-off before paying up. The stereo, ST-84164, also carries stamp and ear. From 1966 the number runs as BST 84164 and the ear falls away; those stereos are the affordable route.
