The record
A late-'60s West Coast date pairing Sal Nistico's hard-charging tenor with Sam Most's cooler lines over Strazzeri's trio, giving this Revelation date a nice tension between hard bop grit and lyrical restraint. Gary Barone's trumpet rounds out a sextet that never quite got its due outside deep-catalog circles.
