The record
Two double basses, Henry Grimes and J.-F. Jenny-Clark, run underneath everything, which is why the group sounds heavier than seven players should. Cherry's cornet threads between two tenors, Gato Barbieri and Pharoah Sanders, with Sanders also on piccolo, while Karl Berger's vibes keep some pitch in the room and Ed Blackwell drums. Blue Note BST 84247 from 1967.

Pressings
The earliest pressing on file here is a 1967 US Blue Note mono BLP 4247; the stereo BST 84247 is listed the same year, several rows carrying an RVG stamp and one marked a Premier press. Spanish, Italian and German copies share that year. US reissues run 1971 to 1973 and reuse both numbers, so read the label rather than the catalog prefix. A 1994 US 180 gram audiophile edition and a 2024 Elemental 700235 close it out.
