A trim-down of the big band into a swinging little combo, letting Basie's economical piano and Freddie Green's rhythm guitar breathe alongside Thad Jones and Frank Foster's sharp solo voices. Small-group Basie at its most relaxed -- all the riffs and none of the clutter.
