A West Coast summit cut for the budget-minded Crown label, with Candoli's trumpet leading a front line sharpened by Collette's tenor over Guaraldi, Vinnegar, and Levey's tight rhythm section. Small-group swing built on the same LA session-player chemistry that made this scene click, sold at a price the majors couldn't touch.
