The record
Tommy Flanagan is the reason to come back to this one -- he shadows Hawkins's tenor through eight songs while Wendell Marshall and Osie Johnson keep everything at a murmur. The program reaches past the usual standards for parlour pieces like 'Mighty Lak A Rose' and 'At Dawning,' and Hawkins's tone does most of the work. Moodsville MVLP 7, 1960.
