The record
A rare 1957 West Coast date led by a woman trumpeter in a field that offered her almost no company, Bryant trading brass lines with Norman Faye while Walter Benton's tenor adds heat. Mode's small catalog folded soon after, making this session a scarce document of a player who deserved far wider notice.
